Choosing the right Way: Said Nursi

Ahlan
Ahlan ya Ramadhan. Times to repent and ask Allah forgiveness, to recite the Quran as much as we can, to be better servants to Allah.
Allahuakbar. We have to thank Allah of HIS love, blessing and mercy towards us; the sinful servants. He gave everything despite what we have done.
I really love to read Said Nursi book’s after Sister AlBazrah has introduced me to his biography, lifes and books. His books really string my heart, and his words really seem so lively and full of rational explanation and logical analogies of the existence of Allah. Indeed if we read his book we will fell like he talk to ourselves.
Here I will qoute some of his writing in " The Words". It is a chance to really know our real purpose of life and fell it truly deep down in our heart. Furthermore, on behalf of the coming Ramadhan maybe we can learn something from his writing. I felt very closed by what he wrote in this book. The third word in:-
Choosing the right way
In The Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O you People, Worship..
If you wish to understand the bliss and benefit that come with prayer, and the grave loss and destruction that come from vice and dissipation, from not carrying out the commands of God, then listen to this short symbolic story and try to understand it.
Once upon a time, two soldiers are ordered to go to a far town. They walk together till they come to fork. A Wise man standing at that point and tell them:
" The road on the right is risk-free and nine out ten travelers on that road meet with great advantages but in difficulty. On the other hand, the one on the left offers no benefit and nine out of ten travelers on it suffer one difference-the traveler on the left road which has no regulation and no one in authority, travels without equipment or arms. He therefore appears to be very comfortable and in an easy situation. The case for other soldiers is just the opposite; the road he is taking is under military regulation. He must carry a bag full of nutritious rations four kilos or in weight and a mighty army weapon of considerable weight which will defeat any enemy easily.’
After listening to the wise man’s advice, one of the two soldiers, the fortunate one, takes the right fork. He lifts the considerable ( but not unbearable) load onto right back; but his heart and soul are at the same moment freed of very burdensome debts and fears. the other man, the unfortunate one, opts out of military service, he refuse to be under regulation and takes the left fork. His body is free of that considerable weight but his heart and soul suffer from innumerable dangers and anxieties. He is constantly fearful and forever in need. At last, h gets into the town. There, he is treated as a rebel and fugitive.
The soldiers who accepts military regulation, keeping his bag and weopon and going on the right road, goes in peace, without feeling any indebtedness to, and being afraid of, anybody. He too reaches the town, but is treated there as an honest soldier who fully performs his duities.
Now, O my undisciplined, carnal soul, pay attention: One of the soldiers represents an obedient of God, while the other represents the rebelliuos and those who follow their own caprices. that road is the life-line coming from the world of spirits, passing through this world and the grave and continuing towards the Hereafter. The weight (considerable but not unbearable) and the weopon are the obligation of worship and peity. Prayers seem to be a strenous demand, but infact, they give such peace and comfort as cannot be explained in words. The one who prays recites in his prayers ashadu an la ilaha illaAllah, that is, ‘ I bear witness that there is no God, Who is the creator and All-Provider. Everything whether of harm or benefit is in God’s gift.

He is both the All-Wise, He never does useless things; and He is the All-Compassionate; His mercy and bounty are abundant. Having faith, the beleiving soldier sees in every eventuality a door to be the welath of God’s Mercy, and knocks on it with supplication. He realizes that everthing in the universe is at the disposal of his Lord and Sustainer. He takes refuge in Him. Putting his trust in God in full submisson, he guards himself against all the evils of the world. his faith give him complete confidence.
As with every good action, the source of courage is faith in, and loyal devotion to, God; and as with every bad action, the source of cowardies is misguidence. Even if the earth explodes like a bomb, it would not frighten a good servent of God with a truly illuminated heart. He may even observe the event in admiration as a marvel of the Eternally0Besought’s Power- whereas a rationalist and famous but non-beleiving philosopher might tremble at the sight of the comet in the sky, fearful lest it should strike the earth. ( Such was indeed the responese of some people in America to the recent sighting of Halley’s comet. )
Man has endless demands, but his capacity to supply them is ever slight. He is under the threat of many afflictions while his individual stenght is quite inadequate to withstand them. In other words, while his stenght is limited to wherever he can reach, his wishes and demands, his suffering and sorrow, are as wide as his imagination.
Now anyone not wholly blind to the truth will understand that it is a great benefit, happiness and bounty for so poor, impotent and weak a creature as man to submit to God, to worship, believe and have confidence in Him. As everyone will agree, the safe road is preferable to the dangerous one, even if there is a very low probability of safe passage. The way and leads one to endless happiness with near certainty. However, the way of unbeliever and transgressors, as agreed upon by innumerable experts and people of insight and observation, and even admitted by transgressors themselves, is not profitable with near certainty of endless loss.

In sum, we may put in this way: just like the bliss of the other world, the happiness of this world also depends upon submission to God and being His devoted servant. Then, we should continually praise God, saying, ‘Praise be to Allah for obedience and succes in His way’, and thank Him that we are Muslims.
Sister Albazrah advised me by said that if you want to read said Nursi books, you have to really relax, focus and concentrate yourself and do not force yourself or read it as a matter to fulfill your leisure time. Indeed, Alhamdulillah i have found his book was so great and i really love to read his book. We also have met some of Said Nursi students or Tullab An-Nur. Really delighted us. If you read his life you will be so impressed on how he has been tough, sincere in facing charge by the government on the thing he did not doing. When he wrote Rasaeilin Nur, mostly in Barla, Turkey he took it as a opportunity to be close to Allah. He has been sent to here and there yet he has achieve a very great achievement in his journey of life and left us a remarkable heritage for us to ponder on and feel the existence of Allah, submit and obey Him truly deeply from our heart. May we love, obey Allah more and more everyday and be devoted servants to HIM.*There are some possibilities that mybe this site will be temporarily off until November or December 2006 for a very solid factors and reosons (but comments will be be update inshAllah) or will be off completelly. I have certain purpose in writing blog ( deffenitely not to become a blogger) and I’m rethinking about it again including this two options. May Allah bestowed the best for us.Amin
I really apolagize for everything if there is any inconveniene in my witing here. I really hope that if there is any comments, critics, responds or want to add something on what i have written it will be much more than welcome. Mybe there is something that I dont know but the readers know. We are the seekers od knowledge. We shared one purpose. To attain Allah’s pleasure(Redha). One more, if there is anyone who want to buy Said Nursi’s book you can contact Sister Albazrah through her email. diqma@yahoo.com. Furthermore, if there is anybody outhere who know a personal contact of Muslims family in German generally or in Northern German particulalry, it will be very appriciated if you help to inform me by can send it to the previous email. I really need it. Thank you.

salam sd alqasam,
Alhamdulillah. i think we share a lot of interest in sufism, rumi,
nursi, tao, fiction and poems etc. Here are a cup of Chinese Tea for you.
Happy reading. cai jian.
A SUFI TEA STORY: AN MODERN COMMENTARY
By Khawja Yusuf
al-Hamadhani about 500 years ago :
(this narrative is a backtracked sequence
until you know to figure it from
the original A Sufi Tea Story)
And it is still that Way.
Only fools asked such Questions.
When Tea was given to all who Taste.
When the Truth was widespread.
It looks like mud, not gold !
Yet again, prove to me this is.
Why do you boil Water when
All I want is the Celestial Drink !
but this is only dried leaves !
Protested then ambrosia
the sought wisdom possess
to pretend who those and
powerful the only first At.
(this sentence was fully reversed)
A man of understanding (arifun)
Spoke to the tea merchants (of dunya)
and tea drinkers
(of Lipton, Nescafe and Green Teas)
:“ The one who taste (dhawqi),
knows (alim/become learned).
( many Sufi Masters were called Wine Pourers
of Divine Knowledge, Marifa and Hikmah)
The one who taste not
(from the Awliya and Sufis),
knows not (jahil/veiled even though
had gone to overseas Universities
and gained Degrees, Masters
and Doctorates in field of Islamic studies,
Arabic,fiqh, sharia, revealed knowledge
Usuluddin, tafsirs etc).
Don’t speak of a Heavenly Beverage
(of sufic poem/qasida/nazam/mathnawi
from Arberry, Nicholson, Kebir Heminski,
Schimmel, Lewison, Henri Corbin, Schuon,
Qubrusi, Ahmad Dede, Chelebi, Rabbani,
Raihan, Hijjaz, M.Nasir, Bhagwan Shree
And many others )
Offer it (oh genuine Masters)
At your banquets (of dhikr, tekke, zawiyya,
khanaqah, pondok, ribat and caves of marifa
Not at Starbucks, Hard Rock Café and
Mamak Tea Tarik stalls)
And say Nothing !
(more than the state ahwal permitted in that moment, place, people can
absorb and digest. Say nothing to the anti-sufis wahabi, tablighi,
haraki and ikhwani )
Those who like it (with love/himma)
will ask for more (until annihilated);
Those who don’t (veiled/blind to it)
are not fit to drink it !
(Imam Junayd said those immature seekers
must use stone and dust to do purification
of outward by tayyamum because they
still don’t found the Pure Water.
What more to taste it by
The polished, pure hearts
Not by the foul mouth and lips)
THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT VERSE
IN THE WHOLE TEA STORY :
‘Close the Shop of Debate and Mystery’
(from my understanding this can referred to all the modern universities
and professors who taught the students to propose, outline, defend,
debate, argue, highlight, deconstruct, prove and win over their main
thesis, anti-theses or arrived at perverted sythesis of new Religion,
Philosophy and Cult so powerful that did not accept any value judgements !)
Return to original my comment- the word
Shop of Mystery used by Shaykh Khawja Yusuf ring a bell in our ears !
This is the Christian false Doctrine imposed or rather sold cheaply to
their colonized third world natives and pagans who now turned the tables
against their formers British, Spanish, Portugese, Dutch, French or
American masters and declare:
Now we are Independent !
We won the Revolution
We are a free Nation
We became member of United Nation
But many still in debts and chains of usury.
The Christians celebrated, voted and killed their own Popes and the
elite bankers laugh all the way to their vaults..And send thousands and
millions citizens of the world to death, misery, pollution, corruption,
overworks, undernourished, rape of natures, and race speedily to the
industrial, agro or touristic model states. Choose any one of them. You
are permitted to declare an Islamic State, Islamic Constitution, Islamic
Law, Islamic Financial Exchange, Islamic Banks and Islamic
International Universities so on but one Word and one World cannot make this thing
HARAM – that is RIBA !
The Debate and Mystery of Usury, Interest, Credit, Debt, Derivatives,
Bond, BLR, LIBOR, Futures, IMF, Gold Standard, Bretton Woods are all
forgotten, buried and heavily guarded in underground vaults in Fort Knox.
Only the terrorists know how to strike at their capitals and strengthen
the current police / military states ! They fall into the Trap sprung
by the wise intelligent operatives who were sent out to the muslim
lands 300 years ago.
The proofs are the Oriental, Islamic and Arabic Studies, Faculties and
Departments were set up well before any of our local ISO certified
universities were created. What is world class when you are not sure of
traveling onto the Path of the Garden or the Fire. Ask your esteem
Professors if you dare to confront their academic credentials. Who are Dr.John
Esposito, William Chittick, Sachiko Murata, Snouk Hungrove etc.
They will give a thousand replies. We need to study Islam Sufis and
Tariqats, to preserve it as cultural heritage, to promote pseudo-sufis
like Idris Shah, Inayat Khan, Wahid Yahya Guenon, Isa Nuradeen Schuon,
So we arrive at the answer – Close the Shop of Those Pseudo Sufi
Scholars !
Maulana Rumi had warned us (today) :
The false Sufis come, from street to street
Door to doors,
Inquire- where is the Wine
Let Dance and taste the Esctasy
Accompanied by soft Music.
Of Sitar, Rebana, Gamelan, Errhu and Ney-for tourist dollars!
NOW THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND MAJESTIC DECLARATION FROM KHAWJA
YUSUFAL-HAMADANI :
OPEN THE TEA SHOP
OF EXPERIENCE !
But my dear friend, who really qualified to open such sufic tea shops ?
Are there any existing tea shops at our doorsteps ? Can you tell me
the new names invented for this Tea and the newly branded franchised Tea
Shops ?
This old merchants will squezze your pockets
And promised you amazing curing and healing power of the Green Tea,
Rooibos Tea, Oolong Tea, Japanese, Ahmed Tea, Camoumile Tea , Four Seasons
Tea and endless inventions to suit your fancy.
Now we proclaim that the Sufi Tea story is closed for lunch hour. 12.35
am Friday.
Promenade Putra Sri Surya , Fifth Floor overlooking the western lake of
Precint 21. Federal capital of Malaysiana.
Cai jian and warmest greeting of peace
By the falling leaves and bright sun !

Sd Abu Zuhri Shin: Alllahuakbar!
Your chinese tea is so refershing (opps! we are fasting now:). Really but it really refershing my day. It was so benefacial in terms we want to understand the real sufis.
Thank You So much ya Sd AbuZuhri.
I really can’t describe by words how the poems or the Sufi Tea story by Khawja Yusuf affected me. I still a very faqir sevents of Allah, still involving of misery in debating..(may Allah guiding us in stand by the truth because of HIM and through the way HE allowing us to do it).
Basically, my knowledge about Said Nursi and Sufism is still very limited and still devoloping. Im still a very small fish among the bigger fishes in the ocean of seekers of truth and knowledge.
I have read some of your posting and I believe you have much more knowledge and have been into it deeply and seriously. For myself, didn’t know that much except I love to read about Sufism the pro’s and con’s and mixed with freinds who follows certain tariqah. I really want to discover the true among the Sufism and the real ahlul haqiqah according the Quran and Sunnah. But we knew, that all of the real Syeikh’s who follow the way of Sufis have agrred that the real Sufis is the one who follow the syariah’s that are; The Quran and Sunnah. Imam As-Syadzili and many others has said that.
I’m totally agreed by what you indicate in this poems as well in your posting under your post ” Bicara Sufi di cape Town” and also ” Kisah Malam Jumaat di UIA” which explain the real essence and basic in Tasawuf is folowwing the real shariah. This is the basic and the real one. Moreover in that posting also you has mentioned that now there are some of “Tasawwuf palsu”. I mean that are right and we have to choose the right one if we want to join the tariqah. But it doesnt mean the one must involve in certain tariqah if they didn’t want or didnt ready yet. But the beautiful in living by zikrulllah can not describe by words. The beutiful of being a salik can only felt by the salik.
I really want to quote what you wrote in your blog here, May I? (After your permisson)
May Allah showers us with HIS love, mercy and guidence.

sekadar berkongsi maklumat tentang tasawwuf….

Alhamdulillah we are still in this hloy month of Ramadhan which full of Barakah full of warmness of the love of Allah full of Rahmah and Maghfirah.
I believe our readers here have knew most of the fadhilah of Ramadhan. This is the time want to clear ourselves and to be close near Allah to sacrife our habits and nafs in order to attain Allah’s pleasure and love. In hope that we will be a better servants afterwards until after Ramadhan. To know Allah better and more. To obey and be a devoted servants. This is our hope. All of us inshaAllah.
This is one nice poem by Daniel Abdl Hayy Moore: from DeenPort.com
When the Sun Goes Down / Ramadan 4
by Daniel Abdal Hayy Moore
Visit website l Send email
When the sun goes down
the flood begins. Lettuce leaves open like orchids
in spotlit clarity,
bread flowers, fruits mature and drop.
Grass green as emerald
flows with the
currents of the sea.
This ovoid earth turns through dark and light,
its flesh drowsing or aching awake with the
cool night or the
hot day. It fasts and the
feeds on fresh breezes and deep
tropical currents of the sea.
The garden we planted next to the house with
seedlings already started in little green plastic boxes
is pushing up and out by that
cunning combination of
sunlight and water that warms and
soaks the soil seeds live in, in their
slow motion rhythm
parallel with the
currents of the sea.
And when we fast during daylight hours, we turn
the whole thing upside-down, so that
day becomes night, but we
walk through the
visions of our sleep and
interact with
other wide-awake sleepers
going along their
rounds in the
humdrum currents of the social sea.
And when the sun goes down
the earth opens up for us,
day begins, we break our
fast, and
enjoy the feast
most flowingly, the
table is spread, dishes are
piled with glistening dates, water-glasses
beckon refreshingly. The
night is on a slow barge down a
long river on its
gradual way to join
the glimmering
currents of the sea.

K.Ibah:K.ibah kekanda yg dikasihi.

Tetamu: Terima Kasih banyak-banyak. InshAllah, ana akan cuba cari kitab tu terutamanya Al-Mausu’ah al-yusufiyyah. Sebenarnya sudah baca beberapa kitab dan hujah-hujahnya. Quite staisfied. But still reading and sicussing. But we have totally understand that the basic and those who opposed Sufism as a whole were not in the right track. But we beleive in this.
Also, i have tried to open the lessons from Syeikh Habib Omar’s site but failed. It said there are problem occured. Therefore, if the one who can understand arabic feel welcome to listen to his lessons. It was so nice and will touch deeply into your herat. You will cry when you listen and it was one way to soften our heart. Al-Mukhlisin fi Sabilihi.
K.Ma:Alhamdulillah.Seperti biasa, pinjam buku ye?:) sebenarnya saya dah pernah encounter kitab tu. Namun mungkin belum akrab dengan membacanya dengan teliti.

Doakan ye.:)

On behalf of one of my uhkt has asked me in the email on how is the pregnant or those who breastfeed their children in facing the obligatary of fasting during Ramadhan I will shortly post it here. Actulally the discussion among the scholars was so lenght but inshaAllah i will only post the rajih opinons.
In the kitab “Feqh As-Sunnah Lil-Nisa’” by Abu Malik Kamal Ibn As-Sayyid Salim has underlined:-Pregnant woman and breasfeed mother a given the rukhsah if they are afraid of therselves or towards their children they can not to fast but in reward she has to feed on each day she didn’t fast one poor people.
This is base on the Riwayah from Ahmad and Abdul ibn Hamdi in ” Muntakhib”.
Rasulullah s.a.w has said : ” Allah has uplift to the musafir half of the prayer(which mean qasr), and for those who musafir also, pregnant and breastfeed mother from fasting”..
Ibn Abbas r.a also has said….”( For those who are pregnant and breastfeeding their children when they are afraid ( which means they are afraid by they didn’t break their fast or by fasting will harm theirselves or their children) can break their fast and have to feed on every day one poor man.”) Abi Daud, Baihaqi.

Salam… buat semua, utk pengetahun tuan punya tanah (Qasam), dimesir
pendek kata namannya madrasah nuriah, ia bukan sebuah universiti

Moga bermanafaat. Said Nursi memang sangat azim pemikirannya. Manhaj Iman.
