This is a short sort-of letter to some of my unknown students and whom gonna sit down for  SPM’s this year.

To my dearest students in a far away land

 

In having to take an exam without going to class is hard enough let alone if we didn’t go to school. Ok, maybe it is sound easy but it is not that easy. If I want to compare my result with those students who succeeded to get 17 straight A’s, then it will be sound so lame. Don’t laugh because it was really true, dear. Ok then, therefore don’t put things so hard on yourself. Live fully and do as Allah’s told us. If akhirah is in your heart then world will come straight away to your hand. Believe me. It’s true. Totally. (But it is not an excuse for us to not to do the very best). In dreaming and struggling to have the very best is a very good thing- based on what Allah has told us, HE love those who do things up to the very best- but to put everything else behind and be completely despair and depressed when going through this stage it is really not our way as a Mu’min and Muslim. Cheer up!

 

Sometimes, it is very strange how we could be amazed by a simple things calls “result paper" and can’t be ashamed of ourselves if we have disobeyed what has been told by our CREATOR; to worship HIM. It is very strange isn’t it? Welcome to OUR world. Sad isn’t, but true.

 

To have a good result in SPM is a tool to have a greater position in this part of the societies whereas with it, could be use to obtain a good scholarship in furthering studies either in good college or university. Apart from that also, without good result there will be an impossible way think will go smoothly except for those whom their parents have money. Other than that, they will be a NO-NO if want to attain an establish position in this DEMANDING world and society. This will be the view of ordinary peoples. It is practical way of thinking and realistic way of life but it mustn’t be totally correct based on human value. The problem that will arise upon this kind of thinking is when the system has been based solemnly on exam-oriented and have been molded into students mind for decade, I’m afraid that what will we produced in future is a student whom are lack of thinking-based learning. We are afraid that one day we wouldn’t want to think anymore.

 

Nevertheless, for us as a Muslim it should be merely as a tool to do da’wah as well to reach Allah’s pleasure in Jannah. Everything we do, we do it because of HIM. On top of that, in targeting to achieve up to the very excellent result is not a wrong thing to do but how we put ourselves and react toward it what does really matters.

 

Yes, definitely it is a tool that have been acknowledge by this DEMANDING society as one of  the very crucial opportunity that could not be let go in order to gain more knowledge.  There is nothing wrong with that. Absolutely there is nothing wrong when we only take it as a tool to seek more knowledge. Knowledge does matter and we want to have more and more knowledge to ensure that our path to paradise become easier and smoother. That’s it. Put thing right on it place and set your intention clearly, then here you go; will be succeed in dunya as well in akhirah, inshAllah.

 

So, cheer up and don’t forget to pray.(Do not smirk upon this statement dear =), I know you are not a kid anymore, but because of you are not a kid anymore, then you will need this reminder more than a kid need it)–> I remembered one of you have mentioned that this during our last class together, that you need it more than kids need it.<– It will be a waste less things to do alongside a very funny action dear, if a simple thing like pray you couldn’t follow but a very intense thing like ‘football’ aka ’soccer’ or studying until early in the morning to get 19 A;s you could make it, or take almost 1 hour to do your hair and make it look ‘cool’ with that spike fashion,(Ok, ok as far as I’m concern based on all of your behalf I will consider it  to be ’cool’ in someway, beside it wouldn’t take too long nowadays with the latest brand new hair gel; Loreal, doesn’t it? But you know what dear, we also have a teenage brothers and only we know how they really take their times to make sure that the spike hair stick to it’s right places)* and how many times have been taken in downloading your favorites music in your MP3 and MP4 or chit-chatting with your buddies? Funny isn’t it?

 

Plus, this situation will look so weird. Believe me, in front of whom? Figure it by yourself.( This is your homework). Ok, ok, enough this nagging of me. I know you will be bored. Till then, see you after the school reopen next week. I can’t really wait. InshAllah.

 

To have a decent result in SPM is something but it is not everything. Besides, it is not the end of the world if you didn’t get one. But this not to make your spirit down, keep struggling to reach the highest excellence in order to attain Allah’s pleasure.

That’s it. A sort-of letter (actually, nagging is the precise word) to my lovely students in a far, far away land.

*This is a different story of life. To tell you the truth, that kind of style did not amaze us. Maybe it is stylish but it is not soothing. The coolest fashion we have come through is following Sunnah. For the girls also, your hijab is the coolest attire that could go with any kind of outfit. It’s spark out your beauty and dignity. You must be proud and hold to it forever. Never heard about it? Then, discover it by yourself. Dearest students, if you want to keep live with that kind of life that you called it fun, just do it. Soon, you will be realize that is not everything and it couldn’t bring you pure tranquility. When the times come, I will reveal what is the secret of true happiness. While waiting for that, I will observe you in far. We as teachers always are behind all of you if you need anything. But do not live with it too long. Time is running and Ummah’s is waiting for you.
